Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, good day!
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Suver for the kind invitation to the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit, where we gather today alongside leaders of nations and distinguished figures from every walk of life to seek together a path toward global peace and sustainable development for our shared environment.
Our world faces increasingly severe challenges. Climate anomalies have triggered a crisis of biological annihilation, while regional wars and conflicts driven by self-interest turn dwindling resources into potential triggers for geopolitical tension. Coupled with the unpredictable consequences of rapid AI development, the balance between technology, environmental protection, and human mental and spiritual health has become vital to regional stability and the very survival and development of humanity. Now, more than ever, the world needs conscience. By taking conscience as our foundation—ensuring transparency in decision-making and integrity in all our affairs—we can establish the bedrock for a peaceful and sustainable world.
As the environment continues to deteriorate, it becomes even more vital for the human heart to maintain stability and balance. A calm and stable heart can discern right from wrong and truth from falsehood; its keen sensitivity and subtle observation can avert disasters before they unfold. Inner stability brings lasting joy and happiness, leading us away from the blind pursuit of profit and fame, reducing environmental consumption, and encouraging us to cherish existing resources. Based on this foundation, mutual tolerance, understanding, and solidarity among all humanity can surely turn the current crisis around, paving the way for sustainable existence and promoting economic development and the well-being of all people.
Since 2000, the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) has advocated for love and peace through a multitude of initiatives. Beginning in 2018, FOWPAL collaborated with various permanent missions to the United Nations, leading to the United Nations’ adoption of the International Day of Conscience in 2019 and the International Day of Hope in 2025. Since 2024, I have championed the Declaration of Transparency and Integrity. This past April, at a side event of the United Nations, together with UN ambassadors and representatives of non-governmental organisations, we deliberated on a draft resolution on transparency and integrity. It is our earnest hope that the United Nations General Assembly will, at the earliest opportunity, designate an International Day of Transparency and Integrity.
Transparency and integrity are the remedy to today’s global crises. Transparency dispels the errors and wrongdoings that flourish behind the curtain; it grants us clarity of judgement and fairness in our dealings and enables us to find sound solutions together, sparing us an immense waste of time and resources. Integrity dissolves the suspicion that obstructs communication and guards against the hollowing-out of long-term resources for the sake of short-term gain. When nations and peoples treat one another with transparency and integrity, they not only create mutual benefit but also forge enduring friendships, advancing together toward harmony and shared prosperity. With conscience as the foundation and everything built upon transparency and integrity, the world will surely move toward light and hope.
Transparency and integrity are the pillars of global stability and peace. Transparency brings truth to light, while integrity makes promises credible. Guided by transparency and integrity, constructive engagement ensures that cooperation balances self-interest with the collective good. In the formulation and implementation of public policy, these principles prevent the harms borne of corruption, ensure that national resources are distributed fairly and reasonably, enhance the effectiveness of government, and achieve sustainable development that genuinely serves the welfare of nations and the well-being of their peoples. International cooperation across technology, trade, environmental protection, and healthcare—as well as the preservation and management of water resources—can be harmoniously reconciled under these principles. This approach strengthens institutional trust, catalyzes collective action, and helps us avert unnecessary conflicts and the catastrophe of a lose-lose war where no one wins.
All the distinguished leaders and wise minds gathered here are steadfast champions of conscience. Even amid the deeply troubling realities of this apocalyptic age, the chance to turn the tide remains within our reach. As long as more people and nations are willing to act with conscience as their foundation, practice transparency and integrity, and balance compassion, reason, and law in their decision-making, they will help build a consensus of trust and public benefit. This, in turn, will infuse the world's future with the energy of conscience and love, allowing a cycle of goodness to flourish. Within this virtuous cycle, our water resources, forests, and biodiversity will regain their natural vitality. Not only will our environment endure, but the world itself will at last reveal a renewed countenance — one of peace and harmony.
Let us uphold conscience, practicing transparency and integrity to safeguard the human rights and well-being of every global citizen. Let us ignite the light of hope. May all wars come to an end, and may love and peace forever endure. May every nation be blessed with favorable weather and bountiful harvests; may each of you be blessed with happiness and well-being; and may this Summit reach a successful and fruitful conclusion.
