H.E. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Ambassadors, representatives, dear friends, ladies and gentlemen. Good afternoon!
It is a great honor and a rare opportunity to meet with H.E. Mbasogo, President of Equatorial Guinea, and all distinguished guests today. This is a golden opportunity for us to create a global village of love and peace together; as the Chinese proverb says, “Though born a thousand miles apart, souls that are connected shall meet.”
The keys to safeguarding world peace and love are conscience, a calm heart, and the efforts to stop all evil and promote all kindness.
Conscience is the origin of mankind’s true nature, the driving force of life, the source of kindness, and the fulcrum of harmony among people.
A calm heart is the foundation of thinking, a necessity for introspection, a method of creation, and the primary factor in peace.
Stopping evil and promoting kindness is a God-given mission, a human right, the truth of all actions, and a responsibility.
At the beginning of 2019, it is especially meaningful to hold the Ceremony of Ringing the Ancient Bell of World Peace and Love at the headquarters of the United Nations. Passed down for millennia, this ancient bell contains the wisdom of our ancestors necessary for the stabilization of the planet. The sound of the bell touches people’s hearts and brings forth the ultimate source of goodness deep in the bell ringers’ and audience’s souls, so that conscience can be exercised in their daily lives. When people are willing to reflect on evil and kindness, we can promote kindness, do good deeds, and help other people—and the world—on a daily basis.
Your Excellency in particular, has a profound influence on the world. As a leader of a nation, Your Excellency’s kind will is of great help in stabilizing this turbulent world. Your people will certainly follow your example, and the culture of conscience will spread from your esteemed nation to the world. I sincerely hope that important leaders at the peak of the pyramid—like all of you—can serve as role models of conscience, consolidating unlimited energy of goodness and creating a new world of love and peace together.
As we launch the global endorsement of the Declaration of International Day of Conscience, we call upon all global partners to take immediate action. Let us work together to fulfill our commitments. Let us make contributions for the greater good, for love and peace, for sustainable development, and for world unity.
