Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze Honored at 28th Eurasian Economic Summit: Promoting Conscience as the Foundation of Humanitarianism

The 28th Eurasian Economic Summit, organized by the Marmara Group Foundation (MGV), was held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from May 7 to 8, 2025. This year’s summit embraced the theme, “A More Humane World — Dialogue for a Livable World.” The Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) was honored to participate for the fourth time. On May 8, during the session on “Peace and Dialogue,” the summit invited Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, President of FOWPAL, to deliver a keynote address titled,“Love, Conscience, and Action: Illuminating Hope and Peace.”

In his speech, Dr. Hong stated that “conscience is the source of humanitarian actions. To realize humanitarian ideals in a chaotic, profit-driven world, we can begin in two ways: first, by promoting conscience-based education to build a culture of conscience and peace; and second, by establishing systems rooted in transparency and integrity. Like the yin and yang of Tai Ji, one forms the internal foundation, and the other manifests externally. Only when both are united in harmony can we truly transform the world and ignite opportunities for a better and more hopeful future.” He also emphasized that “based on conscience, fostering a mindset and system of transparency and integrity — from individuals to organizations to nations — is essential for harmonious and sustainable development.”

Dr. Hong concluded by highlighting a saying, "Humanitarianism begins in my heart and manifests in my actions.” “Everything starts with the individual. Building a more humane world depends on the awakening of conscience within each person. The spirit of humanitarianism originates from conscience and is practiced and sustained through transparency and integrity,” he explained.

The Eurasian Economic Summit is recognized as one of the world’s major international forums. Its organizer, the Marmara Group Foundation, is committed to examining and addressing key issues concerning Türkiye’s economy, democracy, and security. By pursuing rational, science-based solutions and engaging in public dialogue, the Foundation actively contributes to global discourse. It also holds observer status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This year’s summit brought together approximately 650 delegates from 44 countries, including prominent figures in politics, diplomacy, economics, education, and culture, as well as religious leaders and representatives from the business and academic sectors.

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Foundation, the organizers presented a series of awards across multiple categories during the summit, aiming to recognize and encourage individuals dedicated to advancing global peace and sustainable development. At the opening dinner on May 6, Dr. Hong was honored with the “Jak Kambi Award of Love and Peace” in recognition of his longstanding efforts and contributions to promoting enduring world peace and sustainability. Upon receiving this prestigious award, Dr. Hong expressed heartfelt gratitude, stating that love and peace brought them together, and through their shared efforts, they accomplished many meaningful things. He expressed deep honor in receiving the award, affirming that love and peace are essential to the world. With a hopeful spirit, he called on everyone to work together to build a brighter future.

The Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) also advocated for the Declarations for the International Days of Hope and Conscience, along with the Declaration of Transparency and Integrity. Guests and local attendees were invited to endorse these global initiatives. These efforts aim to inspire all people to cultivate a culture of peace with love and conscience. Through conscionable actions and the unifying power of hope, global citizens are encouraged to foster mutual trust, enhance global security, advance sustainable development, and collaborate to create a peaceful and prosperous world for all.
