FOWPAL Visits Its 116th Country, Dominica:
Brotherly Love Paves the Way for a Better Future

Following the global celebration of the inaugural United Nations “International Day of Hope,” the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL) brought its message of hope and positive intention to Dominica—known as the “Nature Island of the Caribbean”—on July 16, marking its 116th country visited on its journey of promoting a culture of peace. During this cultural goodwill visit, the delegation paid courtesy calls to Hon. Octavia Alfred, Minister of Education, and Her Worship Sandra Ermine Royer, Mayor of the City of Roseau. Minister Alfred rang the Bell of World Peace and Love and made a heartfelt wish for brotherly love to guide the world, building a brighter future for generations to come.

Dominica, rich in natural resources and cultural heritage, is the only country in the Caribbean that still maintains an autonomous territory for its indigenous Kalinago people. The nation continues to champion efforts in climate resilience, educational rebuilding, and cultural preservation.

The visit of Dr. Hong, Tao-Tze, President of FOWPAL, and the goodwill delegation highlighted FOWPAL’s global mission of promoting conscience and a culture of peace across more than 100 countries. Their efforts deeply resonated with Dominica’s emphasis on humanistic values and peace education, receiving high praise from Minister Alfred.

Before ringing the bell, Minister Alfred made a touching wish: “May all people will embrace “Peace on Earth,” a blessing given to us at the birth of Jesus. We are each other’s keeper. Let brotherly love reign as we build a world better than we meet for those who come after us. ” The bell tolled for the first time in Dominica, sending blessings to the world and future generations.

She further expressed: “So touching, so relevant. I think among all of these things that everywhere in this world needs to know, peace is high on the agenda, because as we look around, more and more people are becoming more selfish, people are becoming more self-centered, people are becoming more aggressive, people are becoming more greedy. And then some of these things lead to — when you have people fighting for resources, competing — then we have war. So, as we say, the world is a global village, and as more and more, you will seem to be getting smaller and smaller, it is becoming more important for countries, for nations, to embrace the culture of other nations, to respect the humanity of other nations.”

The delegation also presented the song “The Angel in Your Heart”, whose peaceful and touching melody moved the audience. Minister Alfred remarked: “If we listen long enough, and if we feel deep enough, if we spend time with people, we will find the angel inside of everybody.” She especially praised Dr. Hong and the young volunteers for their selfless dedication to the noble mission of spreading peace around the world.

During the visit, Minister Alfred also endorsed the Declaration of Transparency and Integrity, affirming her support for ethical leadership. She noted:  “This(transparency and integrity ) is important for every level of society. Sometimes, if people are at a low level, they think that's important. And then as they go up the ladder, it becomes less and less important. But these two attributes are things that people should take with them in every interaction, everywhere, in every sector. ”

The delegation later visited Her Worship Sandra Ermine Royer, Mayor of Roseau. Dr. Hong shared FOWPAL’s global actions in promoting a culture of conscience, and presented the Scarf of Conscience and the Compass Clock of Conscience as symbols of goodwill and encouragement for conscientious governance that benefits the people.

Volunteers also sang “The Power of Peace and Love,” spreading uplifting energy through music.

Mayor Royer warmly welcomed the delegation and shared: “FOWPAL is a great group. We need peace together, and togetherness is something which we have to focus on right now—especially as we have this whole individualism going on in the world. So, the songs are part of the message to help people to understand the words of peace and togetherness.”

Dr. Hong and the delegation also visited the Dominica Museum in Roseau to gain deeper insight into the island’s rich history and cultural diversity. They presented the Scarf of Conscience and the Compass Clock of Conscience to Francis Jeffrey, the museum’s Administrative Manager, symbolizing a shared commitment to preserving historical memory and the values of human civilization through conscience.

Francis Jeffrey responded: “It's good to spread love and peace for everybody, because without peace, there will be destruction and different chaos. So, it's good to show love and peace to everybody, so everybody can come as one and be a great unity.”

In addition to official visits, FOWPAL volunteers actively engaged with local communities, walking through neighborhoods and inviting residents to endorse the Declaration of International Day of Conscience, the Declaration of World Day of the Power of Hope, and the Declaration of Transparency and Integrity. They encouraged everyone to start with themselves and become messengers of peace.

Volunteer Viky shared: “The world is not always perfect, but through these declarations, the seeds of conscience, hope, love, and peace are awakened in everyone. We hope these seeds will take root, grow, and bear fruit on the beautiful land of Dominica, bringing hope and light to the world.”
