Dr. Hong Tao-Tze Delivers Keynote Speech at the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit in Türkiye
Advocating "Transparency and Integrity" to Resolve Global Crises and Uniting Conscience for a Peaceful Future
Hosted by the Marmara Group Foundation, the 29th Eurasian Economic Summit was grandly held in Istanbul from May 11 to 13. More than a dozen heads of state, government officials, scholars, and representatives of civil society organizations from around the world gathered to engage in in-depth dialogues on the global situation, economic development, and the future life and rights of humanity. On May 12, Dr. Hong Tao-Tze, President of the Federation of World Peace and Love (FOWPAL), was invited to deliver a keynote speech. Titled " A Conscience-Guided Path: Transparency, Integrity, Peace, and Sustainability," his address proposed a new paradigm for global governance centered on "transparency and integrity," garnering significant attention and strong resonance among the attendees.
In his speech, Dr. Hong pointed out that our world is facing increasingly severe challenges. He warned that extreme climate events threatening biodiversity, along with regional conflicts driven by competing interests, are turning the depletion of essential survival resources into potential triggers for geopolitical tension. Furthermore, he noted that with the unpredictable consequences of rapid AI advancement, striking a balance between technology, environmental protection, and human mental well-being has become critical to regional stability and the survival of humanity. He emphasized that now, more than ever, the world needs conscience; by grounding actions in conscience, ensuring transparency in decision-making, and practicing integrity in human relations, a solid foundation for sustainable world peace can be established.
Dr. Hong further expressed that as the environment deteriorates, it becomes increasingly vital for people to maintain inner stability and balance. A calm and stable mind can accurately distinguish right from wrong, utilizing sharp sensitivity and keen observation to prevent crises before they unfold. This inner peace brings lasting joy and happiness, shifting focus away from the blind pursuit of profit and fame, thereby reducing environmental degradation and encouraging the conservation of existing resources. Built upon this foundation, mutual tolerance, understanding, and solidarity among all humanity can inevitably reverse current crises, usher in vitality, and promote economic development and public well-being.
Since 2000, FOWPAL has been promoting love and peace through various initiatives. Starting in 2018, the organization collaborated with various nations' missions to the United Nations, successfully facilitating the UN's adoption of the "International Day of Conscience" in 2019 and the "International Day of Hope" for 2025. Beginning in 2024, Dr. Hong advocated for the Declaration of Transparency and Integrity. During a UN side event in April of this year, he met with UN ambassadors and NGO representatives to deliberate on a resolution for "Transparency and Integrity," with the goal of urging the UN General Assembly to adopt an "International Day of Transparency and Integrity" as soon as possible.
Dr. Hong emphasized that "transparency and integrity" are the ultimate solutions to reversing today's global crises. "Transparency" prevents errors and corruption hidden behind closed doors, providing clear judgment and fair treatment to help identify correct countermeasures, significantly reducing the waste of time and resources. Meanwhile, "integrity" eliminates communication barriers caused by suspicion and prevents the depletion of long-term resources for short-term gains. When people treat each other with transparency and integrity, it not only creates mutual benefits but also builds lasting friendships, moving society toward harmony and co-prosperity. By rooting everything in conscience and building upon “transparency and integrity”, the world can develop toward light and hope.
On the level of institutional and international cooperation, Dr. Hong stressed that “transparency and integrity” act as the pillars for global stability, development, and peace. Transparency makes the truth visible, while integrity makes promises credible; positive interactions guided by these principles enable a balance between self-interest and altruism in all collaborations. In policymaking and execution, these principles prevent corruption, ensure fair and reasonable allocation of national resources, improve government efficiency, and achieve sustainable development that truly benefits the nation and its people. International cooperation across technology, trade, environmental protection, healthcare, as well as the preservation and utilization of water resources, can all be harmoniously mediated under these principles, strengthening institutional trust, promoting collective action, and preventing unnecessary conflicts and devastating wars.
Concluding his speech, Dr. Hong addressed the attendees, stating that the elites and leaders present are champions of conscience. He noted that despite facing the worrying scenarios of today, humanity still possesses the opportunity to change course. If more individuals and nations are willing to act on conscience, practice transparency and integrity, and balance reason, emotion, and law in their decision-making, it will help build trust and consensus for the greater good. This will inject the energy of conscience and love into the world's future, setting a cycle of goodness in motion. Within this cycle, water resources, green forests, and biodiversity will naturally recover, not only sustaining the environment but ultimately presenting a new dawn of peace and harmony for the world.
During the three-day summit, a Bell of World Peace and Love ringing ceremony was held consecutively. Dr. Hong Tao-Tze rang the bell nine times to pray for the world, leading attendees in a prayer to unite their kind hearts and positive thoughts to bring balance to a turbulent global landscape.
